- NATIONAL HERO OF THE PHILLIPINES
Jose Protasio Rizal Mercado Y Alonzo Realonda or famously known as Dr. Jose Rizal was a Patriot, Physician, and Man of letters who was an inspiration to the Philippine Nationalist Movement. Rizal was recognized as National Hero of the Philippines. He was born on June 19, 1861 at Calamba, Laguna.
Jose Rizal studied at Manila and at University of Madrid. He is a medical strudent and soon committed himself to the reform of Spanish rule here in Philippines. He wrote the famous novels; “Noli Me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo”, both a passionate exposure of evils of Spanish rule in Philippines. Rizal became the leader of Propaganda Movement, contributing numerour articles to its newspaper, La Solidaridad. Rizal wrote the “Ultimo Adios” on the eve of his execution, while he is confined in Fort Santiago.
Encarnacion Alzona

- NATIONAL SCIENTIST OF THE PHILIPPINES Encarnacion Alzona is a noted Filipino historian, civic leader, and the first Filipino woman to obtain a PhD. She worked tirelessly to obtained women’s suffrage in the Philippines which was granted only in 1937. She was born at Binan Laguna on March 23, 1895. She studied college at University of the Philippines with a course, History. She studies Masterals at Radcliff College, USA and Doctorate from Columbia University. Year 1928, she became Presidemt of Phillippine Association of University Women. She was also the first President of Kababaihang Rizal (Women of Rizal). She became the Chairwoman of National Historical Institute from 1959 to 1966. She is the author of the books; The Filipino Woman: Her Social, Economic and Political Status (1934) and A History of Education in the Philippines(1932). Encarnacion was awarded as National Scientist of the Philippines (1985).
Gerry Alanguilan

- WORLD CLASS ILLUSTRATOR Alanguilan was born on January 20, 1968 at San Pablo Laguna. He graduated Architecture rom University of Santo Tomas and later on become a Filipino Comic Book Artist in 1992, being inspired by his fellow Filipino, Whilce Portacio. He focuses on his Comics career and was hired by Portacio as Portacio formed a studo to produce work for American Comic Books Companues. He has since inked many comics over various pencillers including Portacio. Among Alanguilan credits are 'Stone', 'Wetworks', 'Grifter', 'Wolverine', 'X-Force, Darkness', 'Fantastic Four' and many more. He has worked on various independent Amrrican Companies where he do his own pencilling. Alanguilan has worked on 'Ochlocrat' and 'Taxman' for Comics Conspiracy, various adaptations of classic short stories for Graphic Classics. He soon also trued to continue working on Philippine Comics, where he utilize his own writing and coloring on top of his illustrating. Alanguilan has written and drawn the 'Wasted' and 'Timawa' for Alamat Comics, 'Johnny Balbona' and 'Lastikman' for Mango Comics, short stories for 'Siglo: Freedom' and 'Siglo: Passion', and 'Humanis Rex!', appearing monthly in Fudge Magazine.
